Fitness Ambassadors

My name is Christyn Oda and I have been a ringette player of over 25 years now. I grew up playing for Markham before joining other squads including Richmond Hill, Kingston, Brock University, Pickering, and I currently play 18+ AA for Whitby.

I have been a certified personal trainer of 12 years and certified fitness instructor of 13 years, specializing in boot camp, kickboxing, spin, and strength and conditioning style classes.

I am hoping athletes can benefit from the workouts I put together to stay motivated and keep fit!

I’m Erin Markle and I’m pumped to be one of Ringette Ontario’s Fitness Ambassadors!

I play for Waterloo Wildfire in the National Ringette League and played on the 2019 Senior National Team.

I have a passion for fitness so I’m excited to share some of my favourite workouts with you! I’m currently studying in the Health and Fitness field with a focus on nutrition and exercise prescription. I hope these weekly workouts motivate you, bring you a boost of energy, and give you a sense of community during this time.

My name is Jaylyn Leighton and I have been playing on Waterloo Open AA Greer for the past nine years. I grew up playing Ringette in Elora and have been playing for a total of 24 years.

I have always taken an interest in my health and fitness and have always strived to better myself in that capacity. Being a part of so many sports teams has made me passionate about being in a supportive team environment that creates opportunities for growth.

I began working as a part-time group fitness instructor three years ago and I continue to work as a coach/instructor at a local gym. As well, I am currently pursuing my doctorate degree at the University of Waterloo with a specialization in therapeutic recreation and mental health recovery.

My name is Maddie Maclean and I play in the NRL with the Waterloo Wildfire, and I played on the 2019 Junior National Team.

Fitness has been a huge part of my life for many years. I’ve had experience training with multiple high-performance teams, including Team Ontario and Team Canada, as well as working at training centres and fitness studios, instructing others in their fitness journeys.

I appreciate all aspects of fitness and all the different styles of training; some of my favourites include strength training, high-intensity interval training, kickboxing, Crossfit and yoga!

I have recently completed my personal training certification, and I have enjoyed creating workouts and programs for myself, my family and friends.

Put your skills to the test in Ringette Ontario’s Challenge series! Starting in December 2020, we’ll be offering a variety of dryland and on-ice challenges to keep you active for the remainder of the season!
