U14 AA: West Ottawa (Team Ontario)

...

Team Quote: "This year Team Ontario U14AA is from the West Ottawa Ringette Association, it is also back-to-back years in U14AA that WORA has made it to the Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships after finishing second in Ontario in 2022. The players and coaches have worked hard all season and are extremely proud to be representing Ontario in Dieppe, New Brunswick. The road to winning the title of Team Ontario was never smooth or easy and these amazing athletes learned valuable lessons about teamwork, perseverance and belief in themselves that will stay with them forever.  The coaching staff, families, friends and community of West Ottawa are extremely proud of their accomplishments and look forward to watching them represent Ontario in New Brunswick."

Team Quote: "The Kitchener U14AA team is so excited to be attending the Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships for the first time!  We've worked so hard all year to be at the top of our game and are looking forward to this opportunity to represent our home association as the Wildcats and our province as ON2. Our team is made up of players from 6 different associations, which can prove challenging, but we rose to the occasion and were able to work together toward our common goal - attending the ECRCs!  We're looking forward to fantastic competition, meeting new friends and giving this tournament everything we've got.  We can't wait to show Eastern Canada what we can do!"

U16 A: Forrest (Team Ontario)

...

Team Quote: "This amazing group of athletes is from the @ForestXtremeRingette Association, located in the small town of Forest, Ontario on the southern shores of Lake Huron.

With only 4 returning players from last year’s team that won silver at both @OntarioRingette Provincials and at Easterns #ECRC2022, people questioned this team’s ability to achieve that same level of silver success in 2023.

These players have set out to prove everyone right (and wrong) by earning GOLD at Provincials. This gold medal win also marks the first time Forest has earned #TeamOntario jerseys at the U16A level.

Rolling in to #ECRC2023, the team has their sights set on another gold medal tournament. We are excited to be representing as Team Ontario; it is especially meaningful to our entire community to travel with the Forest U19A team who are also representing Team O. Between the 2 teams we have 5 sets of sisters competing at Easterns.

These girls have invested their hearts and souls into this team. They have worked hard to trade in their Forest Xtreme blue jerseys for red Team O jerseys. We had to #bleedblue all season, but it paid off and we are ready to #rollred."

U19 A: London Lynx

...

Team Quote: "The London Lynx U19A team is a group of young ladies with grit and determination.  The team, ranging in age from 16 to 18, not only hail from the City of London, Ontario, but more than half the team make the trek multiple times a week, from varying towns and cities outside of London, and within a 115 km radius, just to play the game they love.  Six members of the team have been fortunate to play with one another for years, some since they began their ringette careers, while the other seven members are new to the team this year and have been beneficial additions to our roster.

The London Lynx U19A team exemplifies the children’s story “The Little Engine That Could” because most of the year our team played short due to many uncontrollable challenges, including part-time jobs, school, extracurricular activities, and untimely injuries.  Fortunately, our girls did not give up.  They believed.  They rallied together and truly embodied the quote, “We are not a team because we work together.  We are a team because we respect, trust and care for each other.”

The success of our team, however, wouldn’t be possible without our coaching staff.  Our players are grateful for the leadership and dedication of their five bench staff, three of whom are non-parent coaches.  The players and parents alike are beyond appreciative of the time, effort, guidance and support they have given the team both on and off the ice. “Behind every fearless player is a fearless coach who refuses to let them be anything but the best they can be.”

The London Lynx U19A team is thankful for the opportunity to attend the Eastern Championships and are proud to represent the #Lynx Nation family.  Our team and families look forward to sharing the event with teams and families that are equally as passionate about the fastest game on ice."

18+ AA: Durham Flames (Team Ontario)

...

Team Quote: "The Durham Flames Ringette Club has had an exceptional season and are proud to cap it off by heading to the Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships as Team Ontario.

The Flames are emblematic of what a strong, dedicated, and talented group of women can achieve through sport.  Competing in the 18+AA division, this remarkable group of women, eclectic in both age and background but united in purpose, manage to combine careers and/or post-secondary studies and often families, with the commitment required to pursue excellence in a rigorous and demanding sport.  The Flames are led by two very dedicated coaches who give up not only their time to be with the team at events but to support every member of the Flames family all year round.
